MIDNIGHT SWIMS IN CAMDEN

Less than a week ago, I moved out of my house in Pittsburgh and packed my Subaru for quite the adventure. Along with my best friend, Jenny, we are moving across the country to Los Angeles! But I'm taking my time, seeing the country and producing a play at the Prince Edward Island Fringe Festival in Canada. Driving up the East Coast, we made a brief overnight trip in NYC. We got to see Sleep No More, one of the most mind blowing theatrical experiences I've ever had. We then bedecked the car with puffy paint, grabbed our friend Anna, and hit the road to Camden, Maine! Once we crossed the border from New York, we made a pit stop at  Bob's Clam Hut, a roadside seafood joint with incredible tartar sauce and lemonade. With our tummy's full of fried goodness, we continued to Camden.

Camden is Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls on crack. It is truly the cutest town, with lovely people, a beautiful bay, and fresh lobster everywhere you go. The town itself surrounds the beautiful Camden Harbor, littered with sailboats and lobster fishermen. Our friend, Anna, grew up here and gave us the grand tour! The center of town is a place to grab a bowl of clam chowder along the water and mill through the cute shops. Be sure to stop in Stone Soup Books, Jenny was able to get her hands on some hard to find Dorothy Parker poetry! We also hiked Maiden's Cliff, which overlooks Megunticook Lake.

We spent the next few days prepping for Canada, taking late night swims in the Atlantic, and eating butter dipped lobster on the beach! Translation: If you find yourself on the coast of Maine, you have to stop in Camden.
