Mount Wilson is a gorgeous peak in the San Gabriel Mountain Range, known for its scenic panoramas and Mount Wilson Observatory at the top. With snow still on the top in late January, the trail was somewhat cold, but doable. Hiking from Chantry Flats trail, passing Sturtevant Falls along the way, the trail has its hikers canopied under the trees for much of the time.

The peak sits at 5,712 ft and offers views of the ocean and Los Angeles area. I loved how each part of the trail was so different and had you stumbling upon the historical Sturtevant Camp thats been functioning as a retreat location since 1893, not to mention the telescope domes of the Observatory at the peak. The entire trail is about 14 miles, as you have to cross through the observatory to connect to the Mount Wilson Trail if you want to hike the loop.
